Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Orientation: 24 hours
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license required at submission
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Medical-Surgical nursing experience
Experience with EPIC electronic charting system required
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and NIHSS certifications preferred
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
Ability to float between PCU and Medical-Surgical units as needed
Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care in a secure corrections health unit, including oncology and medical-surgical patients
Float to Oncology and Medical-Surgical units as needed
Ensure safety for staff and patients in a locked unit environment, collaborating with Corrections Officers
Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 in PCU and 1:4-5 in Medical-Surgical units
Utilize EPIC for clinical documentation and Pyxis for medication administration
Perform cardiac monitoring, interpret/manage dysrhythmias, and respond to medical emergencies
Administer IV therapies, blood products, and manage central/peripheral lines
Care for patients with a range of diagnoses, including active oncology treatments, post-surgical care, and respiratory conditions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response)
Maintain compliance with all facility policies, including urgent fingerprinting requirements for Ohio healthcare jobs
