This position is eligible for a hiring bonus! Well qualified candidates with less than 2 years of experience are eligible to receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus, while candidates with more than 2 years of experience are eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus. This bonus will be prorated for Part-Time or Per Diem positions. Relocation assistance and temporary housing are available if needed. Please note, this bonus is not available to current MaineHealth employees or employees who have been separated for less than 6 months. The Medical Technologist role is responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens. The role involves confirming, interpreting, correlating, and reporting normal and abnormal patient results, recognizing technical, instrumental, and physiological problems, and initiating resolutions. The technologist is responsible for ensuring accuracy, quality control, and instrument maintenance. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science required. License/Certifications: Current applicable state license as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, MB, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT) required within six months of start date.
