This job safely prepares for and scrubs into interventional procedures in collaboration with interventional radiologists and nursing. Verifies physician orders and procedures to assure accuracy. Operates equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol. Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care. Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding. Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards. Performs timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and notifies/remediates as warranted. Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.). Adapts communication and service approach to the patient population while respecting privacy and obtaining appropriate permissions. Performs other related duties as assigned. Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance. Qualifications

Education Required – Completion of an approved radiologic technology program. Work Experience Required – Minimum 3 years ARRT(RT) or CNMT experience, including 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience. Certifications Required – Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), unlimited state license (if applicable). Preferred Advanced Certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Physical and Environmental Demands

Medium work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue in a patient care environment; occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases. Possible exposure to hazardous medications or waste in a healthcare setting; risk level may vary by duties. Equal Opportunity
