Ready to join? We are looking for a full-time Certified Orthopedic Technologist or Medical Assistant to be based at the outpatient clinic in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service and communication skills. The Orthopedic Technician is responsible for providing assistance to patients and clinical staff in the full scope of orthopedic services. Duties involve casting, splinting, dressing changes, and phlebotomy. Responsibilities

Apply and remove and/or assist with casts, splints, and dressings as ordered by the physician. As directed by physician, removes staples, sutures and external fixation devices, as well as collects or assists with the collection of specimens, including venipuncture and C&S, and preparing specimens for processing. Prepare and fit all types of orthopedic bracing devices and dme. Instruct patients regarding care of casts, splints, dressings, dme etc. Wound care as directed by physician. Adjusts crutches and canes to fit patient. Assist front desk with rooming patients in the event it is a slow cast room day. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Instructs patients in care of and assists patients in walking with casts, braces, and crutches. Ordering supplies and maintaining supply inventory. Creating PO for purchasing. Ensure rooms are cleaned between patients, as well as cleaned and stocked at the end of the day. Travel may be required to any of the MOR clinic locations. Other duties as assigned. Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One or more years of orthopedic experience/healthcare experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
