Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The Mammography Technologist performs routine screening mammography examinations to obtain high quality radiographs. Obtains images of excellent diagnostic quality to optimally demonstrate anatomy and/or pathology while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients.
Responsibilities
The technologist educates the patient about the exam and takes measures to provide and care for the patient’s safety and properly utilizes procedure related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient. Alerts Supervisor and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions. Maintains a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Associates Degree or higher. Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program is required. Minimum of 6 months – 1 year preferred, but will also consider new graduates that possess State of California Mammography License (CRT M)
Knowledge of EMR Systems and EPIC is preferred
License Required
California Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Radiologic Technology - CRTXR California Radiologic Technologist Mammographic Radiologic Technology -CRTMA (must have by date of hire)
License Preferred
N/A
Certifications Required
ARRT Radiography - RTR AHA BLS certification ARRT Mammography - RTM All areas except OCW If no ARRT in mammography, it must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Certifications Preferred
OCW area only Certified in DBT and 3D Tomosynthesis
