Overview
Job Summary and Responsibilities The Construction Manager (CM) – In-Building Wireless is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the construction and installation of in-building wireless systems, including Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), small cell solutions, and related infrastructure. The CM ensures that construction activities are completed safely, on time, within scope, and in accordance with industry standards and client specifications. Responsibilities
Project Oversight Manage all aspects of the in-building wireless construction process from pre-construction through close-out. Ensure that construction plans and specifications are followed accurately. Coordinate site walks, construction kickoff meetings, and handoffs to the integration team. Scheduling & Coordination Develop and maintain construction schedules in alignment with project milestones. Coordinate work between internal teams, subcontractors, property management, and third-party vendors. Schedule access to buildings and secure necessary permits, approvals, and safety documentation. Field Management Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality of work. Ensure adherence to safety standards (OSHA, company, and customer-specific). Identify and mitigate construction risks and delays. Quality Control Conduct inspections to verify installation meets design and RF engineering requirements. Ensure proper documentation and photos are collected throughout the construction lifecycle. Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during integration and commissioning phases. Budget & Resource Management Track project costs and manage construction budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager. Review contractor invoices and validate completed work before approving payments. Determine pricing inputs and assist in generation of cost models and BOMs. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily / weekly construction reports and update project tracking systems. Provide regular updates to project stakeholders and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure complete and accurate close-out packages are delivered. Safety Duties & Responsibilities
Adhere to, promote, and accept personal responsibility for compliance to federal and local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations and Industry Consensus Standards. Participate in job site safety / hazard analysis. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field preferred. Years of construction management experience, preferably in the wireless industry with a focus on in-building / DAS projects. Strong knowledge of DAS, Small Cell, RF cabling, fiber optic installations, and related infrastructure. Familiarity with OEM hardware such as CommScope, Corning, JMA, SOLiD, Ericsson, Nokia, or similar. Experience working in venues such as hospitals, commercial buildings, stadiums, airports, and campuses. Proficient in reading construction drawings, RF system designs, and fiber / cabling layouts. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. OSHA or certification preferred. Ability to travel to project sites as needed. Valid driver's license required. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project). Project Management Software (Procore, Smartsheet, SiteTracker). RF tools (iBwave, RF Vision, PIM / Sweep testers). Document control systems and cloud storage (SharePoint, Dropbox). Combination of office and field work, including indoor environments such as data rooms, ceilings, risers, and utility spaces. Will require occasional night or weekend work depending on building access. Frequent local or regional travel to project sites.
