Senior Estimator – Civil
Location: Jacksonville, FL
The Senior Civil Estimator develops accurate, detailed construction cost estimates for all Civil related trades at all project design stages. The Senior Civil Estimator leads and trains Team Members, following the Preconstruction standards and processes.
Responsibilities
Develop accurate, detailed civil construction cost estimates at progressive design stages.
Develop associated scope of work clarifications.
Identify risk items and associated order of magnitude.
Assist with Preconstruction resource management.
Assist with the development and utilization of the Preconstruction processes, standards and tools.
Assist the Pricing Lead and participate in estimate review meetings.
Contribute to cost savings exercises.
Assist with the development of bid packages.
Assist with the project construction budget.
Assist with Preconstruction-Operations Turnover Meetings.
Assist with Subcontractor and Vendor relationships.
Assist with project procurement and buyout.
Collaborate with Preconstruction Leadership.
Collaborate with designers and clients.
Collaborate and assist the project operations team.
Follow project construction costs and market trends.
Participate in Preconstruction software development, maintenance and historical costs.
Lead and train Estimating personnel.
Travel as required, 10% - 20%.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Education / Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with 5 years of estimating experience preferred, or 15 years relevant experience in the construction industry.
Required Skills
Demonstrated sitework estimating experience preparing quantity surveys and cost estimates for all civil construction scopes of work, requiring complete knowledge of labor, material, equipment and subcontractor costs.
Experience developing detailed cost estimates for civil projects, including earthwork, site utilities, process yard piping, roads, site finishes, deep foundation systems, earth retention systems, dewatering systems, bypass pumping, etc.
Self-perform estimating experience.
Experience within Water/Wastewater and Industrial markets.
Estimating software experience required, Beck Destini Estimator preferred.
Proficient with earthwork software such as Agtek or InSite.
Proficient with on screen takeoff software, such as Planswift.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Design-Build and CMAR project delivery method experience.
Proven computer skills, including the utilization of Microsoft Office programs.
Revit/Navisworks experience preferred.
