Technical Writer

Job Number: 25-04043 Location: Far Rockaway, NY Responsibilities
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, system guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and API documentation. Work closely with IT, engineering, and product teams to gather information and understand technical concepts. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content. Update and revise documentation to reflect system changes, software updates, and best practices. Create diagrams, flowcharts, and visuals to support written content. Ensure consistency and compliance with documentation standards, formatting, and style guides. Manage document repositories and version control for technical documents. Gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders to improve documentation clarity and usability. Collaborate with training teams to develop instructional materials and e-learning content. Required Skills
3+ years of experience in technical writing, documentation, or a related field. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail. Experience creating user manuals, knowledge base articles, and API documentation. Familiarity with IT systems, software development, and networking concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Confluence, MadCap Flare, or other documentation tools. Knowledge of markup languages (Markdown, HTML) and version control (Git, SVN). Ability to interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and translate technical details into easy-to-understand content. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Agile, DevOps, or ITIL environments. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman). Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field. Certification in technical writing (e.g., CPTC). Benefits
