Overview At River Valley Ingredients, we responsibly use poultry by-products to make high‑quality protein ingredients that supplement animal feed, pet food, and other specialty products. The Maintenance Generalist works cross‑functionally across all facility areas and maintains equipment to support production, ensuring safety and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures and minimize downtime.
Support production by addressing equipment problems during the shift.
Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety procedures.
Document maintenance activities accurately.
Perform other maintenance duties as required to support plant reliability.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience; 6 months of work history with 1 employer within the last 2 years.
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 20 lb repeatedly during shift; up to 75 lb occasionally.
Comfortable standing on a hard surface up to 12 hrs/day and performing repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, and gripping.
Basic math skills (percentages, fractions, measurements).
Lock Out/Tag Out certification.
Willingness to perform the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions Frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, weather, electrical shock, vibration, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme heat. Loud noise levels.
