Emerson . Based in Round Rock, TX (Austin area). As an Electronic Design Engineer, you will assist in transforming ideas into products that bring value to the process control industry. Responsibilities

Design electronic circuits from schematics to initial PCB design. Design and develop FPGA-based solutions for applications including signal processing, communications, and control systems. Implement complex algorithms and functionality in FPGA hardware using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog. Work with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications. Conduct FPGA synthesis, place and route, and timing analysis to optimize performance and meet design constraints. Debug and troubleshoot FPGA designs using simulation and hardware debugging tools. Collaborate with firmware/software engineers to integrate FPGA designs into larger system architectures. Stay up to date with FPGA technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve design practices. Document design specifications, test plans, and results for traceability. Build automation test frameworks to accelerate development and ensure product reliability. Work with third-party IP suppliers to define and integrate solutions. Who You Are

Bachelor’s degree in computer/electrical engineering, Computer Science or a related STEM field and 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience. Familiarity with CAD tools like Altium or similar. Experience designing and understanding electronic circuits with DAC/ADC, transistors, MOSFETs, power supplies, microcontrollers, FPGAs and peripheral circuits. Exposure to high-speed digital design, signal integrity principles, and component selection for complex embedded systems. Hands-on FPGA design experience with Lattice MachXO3 and iCE40. Proficiency in hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog). Experience with FPGA-based embedded systems, high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet), and memory architectures. Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications

Experience architecting and designing embedded real-time applications. Experience programming ARM microprocessors. Understanding or experience with Process Control or Distributed Control Systems. Experience with Agile/scrum methodologies in software or hardware development. Work Authorization
