PRN - Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Predominantly Weekend Coverage. Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed provider group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 350 providers and 850 support staff who cover a wide variety of specialties. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate
Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
to join our team in Chandler, Arizona. This professional will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and high-quality care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
One weekend required per month , with opportunity to help cover the clinic or acute during vacations.
Responsibilities
See patients in the outpatient clinic and hospital setting
Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to Gastroenterology patients under the supervision and responsibility of a Physician
Participate in education development and growth of DHMG Gastroenterology Division
Work closely with the administrative and clinical directors for the GI Service Program to ensure quality and regulatory compliance in provision of clinical services
In collaboration with the physician/medical director, assumes clinical responsibility for tasks performed within Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice, including taking patient\'s history, performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis and providing care and management for common illnesses and disease prevention in the pediatric and adult patient. The NP may assist in the admission, transfer or discharge from the health care system. Makes appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies. Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement programs. Works within a multidisciplinary team to develop a plan for the patient and their family. In addition to routine duties of NP scope of practice, the in-patient, specialty NP will provide care and management for acutely ill patients, respond to emergency situations, and may also see patients in the intensive care units. Also responsible for the management of the standards of care, quality, national certifications, and representation to key stakeholders for the specialty program.
Qualifications PA Requirements:
Degree as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Must hold and maintain: a) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant.
Valid DEA registration
Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
NP Requirements:
Master\'s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
Graduate of accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
Compact state or Arizona RN license
Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license
Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.) NP-AANP, c.) NP-ANCC
Valid DEA registration
Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
Benefits Pay Range: $57.41 - $68.87 /hour
