Job Summary/Description The Health Science Professions Department invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track position. The successful applicant will be a doctorally prepared individual in public health, epidemiology, or a related field. This faculty position involves teaching in the Master of Public Health program and the Health Science Professions undergraduate program. Angelo State University ( www.angelo.edu ) is a regional state university and part of the Texas Tech University system. The university serves approximately 11,000 students on a diverse campus in San Angelo, Texas. The program is seeking a dedicated faculty member to join our expanding team.
Typical Duties/Job Duties
Providing didactic instruction to students in the Master of Public Health and undergraduate Health Science Professions programs.
Preparing course syllabi and materials.
Assigning grades.
Recruiting and advising students.
Participating in committees.
Engaging in course and program assessment.
Conducting research.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The successful applicant will possess:
Experience teaching public health courses.
Knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative organizational skills.
Proficiency with technology used in teaching.
Ability to develop curricula, prepare course materials, and deliver effective presentations.
A commitment to learner-centered education.
Dedication to teaching excellence and professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications A master's degree in public health is required; a doctoral degree in public health or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications At least two years of full-time teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
