Water Resources Engineer PE
Johnson Engineering, LLC (Apex Company) is seeking a Water Resources Engineer PE to join our environmental consulting team.
Responsibilities
Participate in water resources engineering projects at the proposal, planning, and execution stages.
Lead design of water control structures, regional flood mitigation projects, and water quality improvement projects.
Prepare stormwater management plans, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, floodplain mapping, and environmental compliance documentation.
Technical review and sealing of engineering design drawings.
Model stormwater routing with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormWise/ICPR4.
Oversee pre-construction, construction, and post-construction implementation and coordinate fieldwork.
Provide peer review of reports and designs.
Coordinate with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to obtain approvals.
Schedule and manage project deliverables and financial aspects to meet client needs.
Supervise CAD designers, project coordination with other departments, and permit technicians.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited institution.
5+ years of experience in stormwater and/or groundwater.
PE license desired or close to obtaining; Florida PE preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Construction experience preferred but not required.
Proficiency with stormwater routing modeling, ArcGIS, AutoCAD (Civil3D).
Knowledge of Florida Department of Emergency Protection, South Florida Water Management District, USACE, FDOT regulations.
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) expertise.
Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record.
