Freese and Nichols is seeking a

Construction Manager

to join our

Houston, Tx

team. The Construction Manager will be responsible for administering the construction contract by managing, observing, and reporting on ongoing construction on a variety of transportation, water and/or facilities infrastructure projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications. Provide support and day to day guidance to other team members.

Major Accountabilities

Observe and report on ongoing construction work including material sampling and testing as well as measuring quantities

Review contractor’s work for compliance with contract documents and clarify contract documents for the contractor

Support In The Development And Management Of

Change/Field orders

Updates to construction schedule

Submittals

Request for Information (RFI)

Claims

Pay requests

Construction meetings

Complete contractor reference checks

Collaborate with design teams to facilitate responses to RFIs and submittals and/or construction issues

Communicate with contractor about non-conforming work

Correspond with client, contractors, and other employees

Read plan and specifications to be able to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specifications

Communicate with owner to understand owner’s needs and clarify owner’s objectives and relay information to Freese and Nichols and contractor

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

0-2+ years of relevant experience in the construction field serving as a construction manager or superintendent

Good written and verbal communication skills

Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in related field
