Job Description
Position: Estimator
Location: Jacksonville, Fl
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and project bids for commercial and industrial projects
Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda for accurate quantity takeoffs and scope
Compile, organize, and submit complete bid packages promptly
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and pricing
Review and assess subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
Track bid outcomes and update estimating logs
Support preconstruction meetings, bid reviews, and proposal presentations
Maintain organized digital records of historical estimates and vendor pricing
Provide value-engineering options where applicable
Help close deals through confident and professional client communication
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
Minimum 2 years of experience in construction estimating
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Proven success in preparing and winning profitable bids across multiple trades
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to learn new software and processes quickly
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to adapt and grow in a fast-paced construction environment
Experience with customer-facing presentations and bid negotiations is a plus
