Overview

Structural Engineer 2 - Nuclear at Sargent & Lundy. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office work 3 days per week at the Sargent & Lundy office in Peachtree Corners, GA. Responsibilities

Directly apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design. Work on a wide range of projects for various clients as part of an engineering and design team; prepare design calculations, develop specifications, and support designers with drawing development. Use state-of-the-art computer tools to perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations. Conduct structural analyses, including loading conditions such as wind and seismic. Additional Opportunities

Receive training and mentorship from experienced structural design engineers in meaningful project engineering assignments. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification of designs. Qualifications

Essential Skills And Experience: BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; 1+ years of applicable experience, or MSCE from ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with strong academic background in behavior of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design; knowledge of practical structural engineering; knowledge of structural design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, drawings, and models; proficiency with MS Office; good verbal and written communication skills. Valued, But Not Required: FE exam completion, designation as Engineer in Training; MSCE degree; familiarity with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS); familiarity with design codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI). Compensation and Benefits
