Overview
Maintenance Associate I at Pactiv Evergreen Inc. (now part of Novolex) is hiring in Bridgeview, IL. The role involves basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and support of automation and production equipment in a plastic processing environment.
Responsibilities
Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance work on automation equipment.
Set up and perform preventive maintenance on automation and production equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment‑related processing issues.
Utilize a computer‑based inventory system to generate reports and locate spare parts.
Assist maintenance and production staff as needed and train other employees as required.
Follow all company safety rules and use mandatory safety equipment.
Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy work area and be flexible with schedule.
Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a plastic processing or thermoforming environment.
Familiarity with PET crystallization and drying systems (e.g., Novatec or UnaDyn).
Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of 3‑phase electrical systems, PLC interfaces, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast‑paced production setting.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform tasks in hot environments.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or be on‑call as needed.
