Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning

candidate to join our

Traffic Analysis and Planning Group

located in our

Charlottesville, VA

office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis; Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation; Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilize computers to solve problems; Perform research and write objective summary reports used in project work; Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimates; Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties; Communicate with client staff and internal design team; and Communicate results/recommendations to the general public. Skills/Requirements

of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; Ideally, candidates will have between two and six years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning; Proficiency in Synchro/SIDRA/HCS is essential; Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred; Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal project experience is preferred; Basic CAD and/or GIS knowledge is preferred; Experience working with DOT and/or localities; and PE/EIT certification is preferred.
