The Opportunity As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will function as a technical specialist or project lead role, coordinating and guiding substation projects up to 765kV in detailed design and EPC.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Develop protection and control design deliverables for high voltage substation designs, including protective relays, panel arrangements, single line diagrams, AC/DC schematics and relay panel wiring.

Develop physical design deliverables including yard layout plans, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements and auxiliary AC/DC power systems.

Perform quality review of electrical substation design packages.

Communicate and coordinate project activities with clients, vendors, subcontractors and other stakeholders.

Present proposals, designs and project activities to clients and stakeholders.

Prepare and manage design budgets, schedules and quality requirements.

Support business development or pursuit activities and provide subject matter expertise.

Potential travel opportunities to client and vendor offices and/or project sites for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification.

Preferred Qualifications

High voltage (HV) substation design experience – Physical and/or Protection & Controls.

Project lead and technical specialist experience overseeing utility substation clients and projects.

Quality Assurance/Quality Checks experience.

Experience coordinating and communicating with clients, multidisciplinary leads and project managers.

Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.

Minimum 5 years related work experience.

Work Environment / Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion.

Salary Plan Job Grade: 016. Annual compensation range applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $114,933.00–$191,940.00.
