The Engineering Manager leads and manages the engineering team, driving continuous improvement across engineering disciplines with high-level analysis, design, validation, and troubleshooting of complex components for heavy‑duty vehicles. Your Impact

Manage an engineering team consisting of Engineers, Designers, and Technicians. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the engineering team. Provide coaching and development through performance feedback, training opportunities, and individual development plans. Prepare and control department budget, forecast operating costs, and direct budget requests. Has some level of P&L responsibility and understands market share and P&L for their product line. Collaborate with internal and external customers across segments and functions; present and defend technical engineering decisions to Engineering leadership, Oshkosh leadership, and external customers. Ensure timely completion of complex projects and manage overall project schedule and budget; manage multiple priorities. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and external suppliers; may engage with external customers and industry organizations. Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers on common projects. Perform and check complex engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks according to Oshkosh standards. Prepare and deliver complex plans, designs, methods, reports, and proposals; maintain project documentation for analysis and historical records. Research, create, and update standard engineering methodologies and procedures; explore new technologies for development of products. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and outside resources on technical issues. Enforce engineering criteria and drawing standards within company policies and procedures; evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability. Assist in selecting parts, components, and materials; support complex technical proposals and presentations. Other duties as assigned and regular attendance is required. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with eight (8) or more years of related experience. Standout Qualifications

Accredited Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Leadership experience of an engineering team. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems. Experience with CAD system (overseeing, not designing). Why Pierce

$91,800.00 - $153,200.00 per year The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by factors including scope and responsibilities of the role, candidate experience, education, and skills, as well as pay equity among team members.
