Role Overview

We are seeking an inspirational and process-driven leader to head our Plastic Systems and Technology Development team. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and operational excellence across Polaris’ global engineering and manufacturing ecosystem. You will lead a high-performing team across U.S. and offshore locations, guiding the development of plastic technologies from concept through production with a strong focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Key Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional collaboration between design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of plastic components into Polaris vehicles. Partner with Design, Engineering, and project teams to align resources and priorities for successful program delivery. Drive strategic initiatives in injection mold materials, processing, tooling, and design practices to elevate Polaris’ plastics body capabilities. Champion DFM/DFA principles to optimize product quality, cost, and manufacturability. Develop and mentor a global team of design engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement. Establish and refine processes, standards, and workflows to ensure efficient execution across multiple programs. Identify and cultivate relationships with external experts and technology partners to stay ahead of industry trends. Manage budgets, labor planning, and project expenses in alignment with strategic goals. Participate in talent acquisition, including role development, candidate screening, and hiring. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. 10+ years of experience in vehicle or subsystem design and development Proven leadership in a matrixed organization, with demonstrated success in cross-functional and global team environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence across functions. Willingness to travel internationally as needed. Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is not eligible for Immigration sponsorship #LI-NT1 The starting pay range for Minnesota is $113,000 to $149,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range. To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
