Overview

D&E Drivability & Emissions Calibration Engineer. The Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing the optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics while ensuring optimal emissions and fuel economy. The engineer leads calibration maturity and development of sub features resulting in an overall optimal propulsion system across the full lifecycle of development, from conceptual phase through strategy development, calibration execution to subsystem and vehicle level validation, including robustness evaluations. This role spans various propulsion system concepts and levels of electrification, collaborating with a team of calibration engineers to deliver system level functional objectives related primarily to emissions compliance. Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily activities of propulsion dynos and vehicle-related testing, including collaboration with technicians and laboratory support engineers. Develop and execute test plans and timelines; generate reports to communicate program status to larger development and management teams. Drive calibration maturity and development across subsystems and vehicle levels to meet drivability, emissions, and fuel economy objectives. Qualifications

Basic Requirements Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. 3 or more years of experience in spark ignition engine controls and calibration. Strong familiarity with engine system development, including combustion, valvetrain, fuel systems, boost systems, EGR, aftertreatment, controls and diagnostics. Experience in feature calibration with exposure to optimizing drivability, emissions, and fuel economy. Experience launching applications meeting US-based ACC/ACCII standards and regulations as well as ROW markets (Europe, APAC, LATAM). Data acquisition experience, including collecting and processing data to provide meaningful summaries and next steps. Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently. Effective communication skills; ability to present information clearly to colleagues and management. Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and ETAS/INCA. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. 5 years of experience preferred. Execution of problem-solving techniques (RedX, Six Sigma, 3L5W, Kaizen, 5S). Additional Must Haves: Onsite - 100% (Chelsea Proving Grounds). Yes, required to drive company vehicle.
