As a Piping/Utilities Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily tasks on utility projects, ensuring all operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will manage a team, oversee project schedules, and emphasize safety and compliance on all sites.
Responsibilities
Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary for weather, supply, delivery, and personnel changes. Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors. Recruit, hire, train, manage, and mentor employees and contractors. Provide adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs. Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures. Develop and manage project budgets and quality standards for all sites. Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably. Regularly report project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other officials.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5 years supervising installation of pipe and culvert on heavy civil projects. Experience as a piping superintendent, specifically on utility projects. Strong supervisory skills in utility construction and heavy civil projects. Proficiency in water, sewer, force main, and pipe installation. Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Excellent management and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Current OSHA 30 or greater certification is a plus.
Work Environment
This role is on-site at various project locations. The company is a growing civil contracting firm that offers great benefits and generous bonuses.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
