Aftermarket Engineering Manager
Job Summary
The Aftermarket & Circularity team owns the post-sale lifecycle for EV battery packs/modules and energy storage systems—service quality, spare parts, reverse logistics, and recycling/second-life. We partner closely with Cell/Pack Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Legal/EHS to drive uptime and cost control. Current priorities include standing up a Midwest service hub, building PFEP/S&OP and 3PL scorecards, standardizing RTP for hazardous shipments, and piloting recycler partnerships. The Manager leads a day-to-day operations squad (technicians, planners, analysts) within this expanding function.
Role Summary / Background Information:
This role executes and scales day-to-day aftermarket operations—field/remote service, spare-parts planning, reverse logistics (including RTP/hazmat), warranty execution, and recycler coordination—for Gotion’s NA customers. The Manager drives operational KPIs (uptime, FTF, MTTR, parts fill) and ensures safety/compliance while turning field insights into fixes and continuous improvement actions with Engineering and Supply Chain. Success means stable service SLAs, reliable parts availability, compliant returns/EoL flows, and visible KPI improvement within 3–6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Run daily service operations (dispatch, remote diagnostics, escalation) and drive KPIs:
uptime, FTF, MTTR, CSAT/NPS ; enforce HV safety/LOTO. Build and maintain
PFEP/S&OP , min/max levels, parts BOM accuracy; manage
3PL
performance and spares availability. Execute
RTP
programs and hazardous shipments (UN3480/3481) with end-to-end
chain-of-custody
and documentation. Coordinate repair-vs-reman-vs-recycle flows with approved partners; collect yield/turnaround data and ensure
EPR
readiness in priority states. Own operational reporting (dashboards), warranty claim execution and cost tracking; lead CI/RCA actions with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing. Minimum Qualifications (Required): Bachelor’s in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field. 6+ years
in aftermarket/after-sales/service operations (EV battery, ESS, or automotive);
2+ years
leading technicians/analysts or vendor teams. Working knowledge of
Li-ion pack
basics and field diagnostics/commissioning; strong familiarity with
PFEP/S&OP , 3PL scorecards, and CMMS/CRM workflows. Hands-on experience with
hazmat logistics
(DOT/IATA UN3480/3481) and
RTP
handling; solid documentation discipline. Safety & compliance mindset (EPA RCRA/Universal Waste, OSHA HV safety); proven KPI ownership (FTF/MTTR/parts fill/uptime). Ability to travel
