PACU Nurse – responsible for preoperative and postoperative patient care at Duly Health and Care. Location
Lombard, IL Compensation
Base pay range: $35.25–$52.90 per hour Shift differentials, performance bonuses, and other incentive pay Benefits

Adhere to the Center’s policies, procedures, and the Profession Standards of Nursing Practice Prioritize patient safety and consult as needed; notify the physician of changes in patient condition Administer and control narcotics and medications Perform the Preoperative/PACU Nurse duties as assigned Restock supplies at the end of the day PACU Duties
Assess patients recovering from anesthesia and determine appropriate nursing interventions Evaluate respiratory status and insert oral or nasal airway as needed Continuously monitor patients during recovery from anesthesia Monitor blood pressure, arterial oxygen saturation, respiration, and EKG Recognize life‑threatening arrhythmias and initiate appropriate therapy or assist as necessary Perform venipuncture for IV restarts; mix and administer IV medications Prepare patients for discharge with post‑operative instructions and teaching Pre‑Op Assessment Duties
Conduct preoperative interview and patient teaching (telephone or in person prior to scheduled surgery) Confirm the proposed procedure, date of service, and verify the surgical site Confirm patient understanding of the proposed procedure Instruct patient on what to expect during the visit to the center Obtain health history Qualifications
Current Illinois licensure as a Registered Nurse BCLS certification ACLS / PALSC certification Experience
Minimum two years experience in an acute care setting or ambulatory surgery setting Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care, assess and interpret data relative to age, and provide care as described in policies and procedures Possess general knowledge of all equipment and supplies Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedure performed and anesthetic agents; make appropriate nursing assessments and position patients recovering from anesthesia
