Hourly Pay Range:
$30.46 - $45.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights:
Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Location: Northwest Community Hospital Full Time/Part Time: Part Time Hours: Monday-Friday, 11pm-7:30am, rotating weekends and holidays What you will do:
Accurately perform routine and special laboratory tests according to procedure manuals and record their results; evaluate test results, including normal and abnormal results which require notification, documentation, and/or verification. Evaluate results for clinical significance, validity, and appropriateness. Follow prescribed policy in the reporting and notification of test results. Perform and document calibration, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment. Recognize indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction; evaluate and implement appropriate corrections. Perform, document, and review quality control and quality assurance for improvement according to established protocol. Evaluate quality control results and take corrective action when indicated. Perform internal and external proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples. Perform specialty testing in areas including chemistry, hematology, coagulation. Support the disease-specific accreditations of an institution by meeting turnaround time goals. What you will need:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in a clinical laboratory science or medical technology program from an accredited institution. License/Certification:
Current MLS/MT (ASCP) registration or equivalent. Experience:
Minimum of one year of laboratory experience in high/moderate complexity testing. Unique or Preferred Skills:
Ability to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to various laboratory areas. Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results, and taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work cooperatively with others and inspire cooperation. Benefits:
