The
Supervising Mental Health Clinician
supervises and coordinates mental health professionals, paraprofessionals, and interns in San Mateo County. The role includes program planning, administration, evaluation, and providing specialized psychiatric casework, counseling, and therapeutic services to adults and youth. The current vacancy is within Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), specifically in the Crisis and Outreach Team, including PERT, CRT, HCH, and HEAL teams. As a member of the BHRS Leadership Team, you will collaborate on system-wide initiatives, work with law enforcement and community partners, and oversee crisis response activities. Responsibilities also include training, data tracking, and responding to active crises. Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Knowledge of system of care principles and crisis management techniques. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders. Clinical expertise with adults and youth with serious mental illnesses. Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, CBT, trauma-informed care. Understanding of Medi-Cal, Medicare, and BHRS tools like Avatar and EPIC. Experience with diverse populations and in inpatient/outpatient settings. Key Responsibilities
Consult with clinicians and law enforcement during crises. Track and report program data. Lead meetings and provide clinical training. Respond to active crises and oversee program operations. Qualifications
Licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist in California. A Master's degree in a mental health field plus two years of post-graduate experience is typical. Skills include supervision, collaboration, report writing, and establishing positive relationships with clients and stakeholders. Application Process
