As a Member of the Board of Directors, you will help shape the strategic direction of the organization, oversee governance and policies, and contribute to financial oversight to ensure the mission is fulfilled effectively and ethically. Your Impact on our Mission
Provide governance and oversight for the organization\'s operations Contribute to the development and monitoring of the strategic plan Ensure financial stability and accountability Advocate for the organization\'s mission and engage in community outreach Attend and participate in mandatory quarterly remote board meetings and relevant committee meetings What You’ll Bring To The Team
Proven leadership experience in a board role or similar capacity Strong commitment to the organization\'s mission and objectives Experience in governance, finance, fundraising, and/or nonprofit management Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to think critically and engage in constructive dialogue with other board members Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team Background in environmental/watershed/ocean stewardship preferred Prior experience with a nonprofit is highly preferred Location within the 48 contiguous United States is highly preferred Logistics
Time commitment: about eight hours per month Attend mandatory quarterly remote Board meetings (approximately two hours, usually on Sunday afternoons or evenings) Term: at least two years (longer is welcomed) Meetings during Central Standard Time (CST) hours How To Apply
