Overview
The Loan Center Consultant role is a highly consultative sales opportunity operating in a call center environment. The Lending Consultant will be responsible for handling incoming loan interactions from members, offering beneficial products and services to members, effectively conveying application decisions, providing financial education and an all-around exceptional member experience via the telephone. This is a hybrid opportunity in the Lakeland area. Responsibilities
Drive call center sales for all consumer lending product lines to maximize profits, while ensuring member satisfaction through the call center sales channel. Discover problems, needs, and opportunities by listening for clues in conversations, asking questions, and researching the member’s account. Educate members how to take full advantage of credit union membership by cross-selling ancillary products and services such as GAP, Extend Warranty and Debt Protection. Promote current marketing campaigns in order to sell to members accurately and effectively from a call center environment. Provide outstanding member service in conjunction with a sales or retention interaction. Consistently provide exceptional, accurate, and efficient communication to external/internal members over the phone or preferred delivery channel. Effectively anticipate and resolve member’s escalations and complaints. Gather, evaluate, analyze and verify loan documentation and consumer information to ensure accurate loan processing meets proper compliance guidelines. Work closely with loan officers and loan processors to obtain credit information and coordinate closings to meet the sales goals. Work closely with Leadership to solve complex loan application issues, while maintaining credit union guidelines. Provide timely member follow-up on loan stipulation submissions. Responsible for up to date working knowledge of government rules and regulations and compliance involving consumer lending. Manage individual pipeline to maximize converting applications to funded loans. Assist with various loan projects, system testing, and training updates. What you will need
Experience within a financial service institution with extensive knowledge of consumer lending and federal regulations as they pertain to consumer lending and related products. Excellent understanding and knowledge of consumer loan origination processes and regulations. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high volume, stressful environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are also a must. Excellent interpersonal, consultative conversational skills, and customer service skills. Experience in loan documentation validation, including verification of VOI, Taxes, and Purchase Orders. The incumbent must have strong verbal and written communication skills as they may deal with sensitive member issues. Exceptional communication skills, to include oral, written, visual, and quantitative. 1-2 years of Consumer Lending or related experience Associate’s degree or equivalent experience What’s In It For You
