Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (Procedural) - Reconstructive Oncology Department
at Moffitt Cancer Center. Based in the Reconstructive Oncology Department at our McKinley Campus. Provides patient care under the auspices of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG) and supports the academic medical enterprise in contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. Responsibilities
Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating and optimizing patient care with many specialists. Assists physicians with evaluation, management, treatment of Surgical Oncology related disorders, and assists in the Operating Room/Procedure Suites; performs minor procedures in surgical clinics. Works within a defined scope of practice and under the supervision of physicians or by specific protocol(s). Performs minor procedures and biopsy-type procedures within scope of practice; prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate within scope; documents patient care per medical staff rules. Bachelors degree minimum; masters degree preferred. Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program. Active FL medical license (or ability to obtain) and certification by the appropriate accreditation body. Active BLS and ACLS (AHA approved). Experience in surgical oncology preferred.
