What’s the difference between Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care Hospitals? Vetco Vaccination Clinics offer wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations and medications, heartworm testing, and microchip insertion. No surgeries, emergencies, or sick visits. A trained staff runs operations, transactions and helps to safely restrain pets. Clinics are located inside Petco retail locations. Appointments help manage traffic to get you out the door on time. Vetco Total Care Hospitals provide preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Hospitals are equipped with digital patient records, a surgical suite, ultrasound imaging, digital and dental X-ray, AI-assisted interpretation, and on-site labs. Hospitals are staffed with licensed and trained personnel. No overnights or emergency on-call. The appointment-based model helps manage traffic and get you out the door on time. As a relief veterinarian with Vetco, you will deliver veterinary care and support within an appointment-based model. You will collaborate with staff and the area medical director to review case comfort levels and ensure quality care. You will participate in preventive care, diagnostics, and procedures appropriate to your shift type and license. Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine license in good standing Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions, including blood draws and administering vaccines DEA registration in good standing is preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance and license defense policy Compliance with all local, state and federal mandates Vetco Total Care hospitals and Vetco Clinics provide access to high-quality veterinary care in 48 states, with new locations opening soon.
