Urgent Care Radiology Technologist (Hyannis) – full-time position at Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod. Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures operating radiographic and other equipment as appropriate. Positions patient on examination table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of the body area requested by the physician, as determined by department policy and procedure. Receives and reviews requests for radiological studies; explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation. Triage and evaluate patients, obtain major complaints and brief medical history when necessary, take vital signs, and maintain complete chart documentation (name, medical record #, allergies, current medications with routine updates). Assist with decontamination, cleaning and preparation of exam rooms; stock area daily; inventories and requisitions supplies. May assist in patient registration, intake and answering phone calls at the center. Ensure safety and comfort during examinations; apply radiographic protection principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff. Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency; ensure timely completion of work in conformance with department policies and procedures. Evaluate radiographs for technical quality; maintain radiology records and label radiographs for proper identification. Assist physician with administration of radiographic contrast media or its direct administration if trained and sanctioned by the radiologist. Maintain knowledge of departmental and hospital policies and procedures, including infection control, fire and disaster plans. Participate in continuing education as directed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Massachusetts State Licensing. Maintain ethical relationships with patients, physicians, personnel and guests; ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested. High school graduate or equivalent Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Accredited Radiography Program, or equivalent Valid Massachusetts State License Current BLS certification Schedule Details

76 pay period hours (38 hours per week), rotating days (Mon–Fri 8a–6p), every other weekend (8a–4p) and rotating holidays. Organization
