Job Title: Psychologist - Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Psychologist (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University is seeking to hire two Rehabilitation Psychologists with keen interest and a strong background in working with patients with acquired disabilities from neurologic conditions, or musculoskeletal injuries. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview
The position will primarily involve providing individual psychotherapy to optimize adjustment and coping. Other clinical opportunities include providing outpatient psychotherapy to adults with diagnosis of cancer, FND, amputation and burn injury. Our rehabilitation psychology division consists of a dynamic group of 14 faculty members. Most of our faculty work on various inpatient medical units (eg. Stroke, TBI, SCI, Trauma, Burn, Oncology, and General Rehab) and outpatient clinics (Ambulatory Services, Psychosocial Oncology, Burn Clinic, and Vestibular Disorders). This position would primarily involve providing outpatient psychotherapy with the potential to work in an inpatient setting as our division’s presence expands at the medical center. The OSU Division of Rehabilitation Psychology is a member of the Council of Rehabilitation Psychology Postdoctoral Training Programs (CRPPTP). All faculty have opportunities for training and supervising post-doctoral fellows and residents. There are other opportunities throughout the medical center for teaching and taking on leadership roles. Ohio State's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) has been an industry leader for more than 50 years. Duties and Responsibilities
Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission – patient care, education, and clinical research. The psychologist will provide clinical evaluation and assessment, as well as individual and/or group psychotherapy. This requires thorough knowledge of the DSM-5 and mental health diagnoses within the ICD-10. Requirements
Successful completion of an APA accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology and an APA accredited internship Post-doctoral fellowship training in a healthcare or rehabilitation/medical setting is preferred Board certified or eligible in Rehabilitation Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology Strong interest in academic medicine The faculty rank will be in accordance with the candidate’s qualifications How to Apply
