Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Speech Language Pathology experience; new grads are welcome to apply Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. The SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to improve outcomes and quality of life. Essential Work Functions
Evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and clinical observation Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices Continuously assess progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document in the electronic medical record Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices; provide supportive counseling as required Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control protocols and regulatory standards Participate in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to follow instructions and basic PC skills Physical ability to move and assist with equipment (50-100 lbs), and to stand, bend, push, and pull Professionalism and ability to work with diverse personnel Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment Mental ability to work under deadlines, sometimes with irregular schedules and close supervision as needed Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits
