CT Technologist Overview
The CT Technologist operates computed tomography equipment to perform high-quality imaging procedures under the direction of a radiologist. This role requires expertise in cross-sectional anatomy, vascular anatomy, and pathological conditions to ensure accurate diagnosis while prioritizing patient safety through radiation protection principles. Schedule:
3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) Essential Duties
Perform CT examinations, biopsies, 3D renderings, reformations, and specialized procedures. Conduct equipment calibrations and daily tube warm-ups. Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure. Screen patients for appropriate lab values, allergies, and compatibility with procedures. Administer IV contrast media as required, prepare patients for procedures, and provide clear instructions. Evaluate diagnostic images for quality and adjust technical parameters as needed. Operate all imaging equipment and accessories associated with computed tomography and special procedures. Ensure patient comfort and positioning while demonstrating knowledge of imaging techniques. Document patient history and examination details; monitor PACS and address discrepancies or problem studies. Requirements
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program. Active New York State Radiologic Technology license (with injection certification). ARRT Certification (Computed Tomography preferred at hire or obtained within one year). Two or more years of CT Technologist experience (preferred). Basic Life Support (CPR) certification. Skills And Competencies
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a positive attitude. Proficient in cross-sectional anatomy, positioning, and imaging techniques. Skilled in assessing lab values relevant to procedures. Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal). Competence in handling and disposing of medical waste according to hospital policies. Physical Requirements
Push/pull and lift/move objects up to 15 lbs. Perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination (e.g., typing, data entry). Stationary work at a workstation and ability to move and squat for extended periods as needed. Additional Information
Includes rotation assignments for on-call and holidays. Adherence to hospital protocols, mandatory education, and regulatory guidelines. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care specific to patient age groups served. Contact:
