What you will do:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Regularly reassess the effectiveness of treatment plans, attend staffing meetings, and family conferences. Perform discharge evaluations, make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and education resources. Communicate patient’s needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, patient, and family members. Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure coordinated care and improve patient outcomes. Qualifications
What you will need: Master’s Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program. Valid Speech-Language Pathology license in the state(s) of practice. Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations. Minimum of one year’s experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for complex neurological injuries preferred. Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Physical ability to perform duties involving moving, lifting, or transferring patients, sometimes up to 100 pounds, following safety procedures. Fine motor skills, visual acuity, and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Additional physical requirements include pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, kneeling, and repositioning frequently. A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on location policies and regulations, to verify physical capability with or without reasonable accommodations.
