Veterinary Technician - Laurel Veterinary Clinic Laurel Veterinary Clinic, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, has been serving the community of Broomfield for over 50 years. We are a 5 DVM small animal practice that values fear-free medicine, client education, and gold-standard patient care. We are looking for a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. Compensation: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour Essential Job Duties
Take history from clients, perform physical assessments, and record observations legibly in the medical record. Triage patients and determine stability/critical status. Communicate with doctors, technicians, office staff, and clients regarding patient status. Educate clients on preventative healthcare and provide follow-up. Report patient or client concerns to appropriate personnel. Perform venipuncture, run in-house laboratory tests, prepare forms for outside labs, and communicate results to owners as requested by the veterinarian. Prepare exam rooms and assist during appointments with doctors. Perform diagnostic imaging as requested by the veterinarian. Prepare fluid therapy setup (infusion pump, syringe pump), select fluids and rates, and monitor CRI. Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including preparation, anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery, and postoperative pain management. Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients, including medications and monitoring as directed by the veterinarian. Admit and discharge patients following protocols and educate clients on home care and discharge instructions. Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital wards. Dispense veterinarian-approved medications, patient food, treatment sheets, discharge instructions, and labels; document communications with clients and doctors. Prepare patients for discharge and educate clients on home care and medications. Requirements and Qualifications
Current CACVT certification At least 3 years of clinical veterinary hospital experience preferred Strong listening and communication skills Proficiency in triage, patient restraint, medication administration, and venipuncture Surgical skills including dental prophylaxis, full-mouth dental radiographs, anesthesia induction and monitoring, and surgical site preparation Strong work ethic, flexibility, and teamwork Proficiency with veterinary practice software Understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Benefits
