Responsibilities
Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency (neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
Provides patient and family education and exercises courtesy and patience when speaking with patients, families, medical personnel and others to deliver quality customer service.
Qualifications
Master\'s degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
Must be certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for all age groups.
Must be certified (CCC) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or meet the educational requirements for certification and be in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other government regulations.
