Overview

Senior Staff Nurse Physician Group role at Northwestern Medicine. The staff nurse provides nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process, prescribes, delegates and coordinates care, and communicates with patients, families and the health care team. The position adheres to the organization’s ethics, compliance standards, policies and regulatory requirements. Salary : The salary range for this position is $34.50 - $55.20 hourly. Placement within the range depends on relevant experience and internal equity. For represented positions, placement follows the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Responsibilities : Perform all aspects of patient care using evidence-based practice to optimize patient safety and reduce errors. Adhere to the six medication rights and administer medications based on patient age and clinical condition. Explain procedures, therapies and treatments to patients and families; educate and document responses. Assess and plan individualized care, including teaching, discharge planning and continuum of care. Engage patients and families in care planning and involve appropriate resources for education. Assess and reassess pain; educate on pain management. Identify and act on quality improvement findings to improve nursing practice and the healthcare delivery system. Participate in shared governance, committee work and department projects. Qualifications : Current RN license for the state of employment; valid CPR – Basic Life Support. Experience within the past five years; new graduates within the past two years may apply. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; one year of relevant clinical experience; proficiency in a second language.
