Overview
Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - ICU - Full Time - Day/Night Highland Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APP) to join its Intensive Care Unit. Role is Full Time (1.0 FTE) with a schedule of 75% nights and 25% days. Shifts are twelve hours (7am–7pm or 7pm–7am), 3x/week plus 8 extra shifts per year to complete 40 hours. 2–3 holidays per year, and 4 weekend shifts per month.
Responsibilities
Medical coverage in the ICU, evaluation & management of intensive care unit patients covered by the critical care team.
Report to the ICU Medical Director for clinical and administrative issues pertaining to the ICU; for broader administrative issues, consult the Chief of Medicine.
Collaborate with the attending critical care physician; inform the attending of any significant change in a patient’s clinical status.
Primary task is medical coverage in the ICU with evaluation and management of ICU patients or those on a medical or cardiology service.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an approved PA or NP program and nationally certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Experience: ICU Fellowship or 1+ year of experience as an inpatient or ED APP. New graduates with ICU rotations may be considered. Demonstrated autonomy and competency managing critically ill patients; able to independently perform some invasive procedures; demonstrated leadership in coordinating clinical services for acutely ill patients.
License/Certification: ACLS certified. Stroke Certification required within one year of hire.
Skills: Proficiency in central venous and arterial access; management and resuscitation of unstable patients; management of respiratory failure including proficiency with standard modes of mechanical ventilation.
Salary Range : $98,000.00 - $130,083.20 annually. The pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries will be set within the range based on factors including experience, education, qualifications, and internal equity.
