Overview
Interim Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Cardiac Surgery - Full Time - 12hr Days - $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS at Cedars-Sinai. The role involves providing advanced nursing care to cardiac surgical patients under the supervision of Cardiac Surgeons, within the Smidt Heart Institute. Responsibilities
Obtain and perform history and physical examinations; record and interpret pertinent data (labs, diagnostic studies, discharge summaries, progress notes, etc.), including writing orders and discharges. Evaluate, treat and diagnose patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. Write a daily progress note on inpatients, collate inpatient records and perform discharge summaries using the electronic medical record. Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds. Coordinate ongoing overall patient care with physician staff, nursing staff and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implemented. Assist or perform bedside procedures within the scope of service. Maintain communication with patients and families regarding care. Demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to deliver care appropriate to adult and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, and the ability to identify patient needs and provide the needed care. Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Perform other related duties as required. Participate in quality activities, including Unit Practice Committees. Work with a large team of PA/NPs and provide comprehensive services primarily in the step-down unit, consultative service, and occasionally in the outpatient clinic. Qualifications
Education
Master of Nursing Degree required Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required License/Certifications
Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License required National Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) required Current NP Furnishing License required DEA license required ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required AGACNP strongly preferred Experience
A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required At least 2 years of experience managing vascular surgery patient population preferred Inpatient NP experience Req ID : 11256
