Full-time Veterinary Technician Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians in surgery (induction, monitoring, and post-operative recovery), in exam rooms, and with patient restraint and IV catheter placement Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed Perform radiology and in-house laboratory work (e.g., fecals, urinalysis); prepare and read in-house test results Present treatment plans to clients and educate on take-home medications, preventive care, and flea/heartworm prevention Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures Obtain specimens (blood, stool, etc.) and maintain radiographs following safety procedures Maintain clean, organized exam rooms, labs, and equipment; restock as needed Demonstrate warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in client and patient interactions Communicate effectively with veterinarians and team members Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Ability to work on weekends as required Previous veterinary experience preferred Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with or without assistance for heavier loads OSHA safety techniques and PPE awareness Basic math for calculating medication dosages Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety Benefits
