Job Summary: Responsible for patient care with supervising physician, in collaboration with medical teams. Performs care involving diagnosis, medication and diagnostics ordering, and therapeutic measures in inpatient, surgical, and outpatient settings. Assumes medical staff privileging within the scope of practice delegated by Mount Sinai Health System and the hire department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage patient care, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ordering tests and medications as per NYS law and hospital policies (including controlled substances with DEA licensure).

Accurately document all care, orders, and notes in patient records.

Communicate effectively with medical teams and staff.

Provide consultation to nursing and medical staff regarding patient condition and care plan.

Collaborate with supervising physicians and care teams to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Perform delegated clinical duties efficiently within scope of practice.

Maintain certifications and licensure as required, and uphold privileges.

Engage in continuous medical education and promote a positive work environment.

Adhere to hospital policies and infection control standards.

Physical ability to perform duties including standing, bending, lifting, and dexterity tasks.

Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master’s preferred.

NCCPA Board Certification.

New York State Licensure and DEA Licensure.

BLS and ACLS Certification.

Infection Control Certification.

Basic computer skills; Epic experience preferred.
