Emergency Medicine research is growing quickly and fellowship training is a successful pathway to improve and increase high quality research, quality of patient care, and the future of our specialty. The Clinical Research Fellowship aims to provide structured, advanced training and mentorship in scientific inquiry, allowing fellows to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to become independent researchers and contributors to their field. The Research Fellowship was established in 2025 by Dr. Ariella Gartenberg, the current Fellowship Director. Duty hours will be divided into clinical and academic hours. Clinical time will function as an Emergency Medicine Attending and will work across two diverse campuses: Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx (NCB). Join a top-tier Emergency Medicine Faculty at Jacobi Medical Center, affiliated with AECOM. Practice at a high-acuity, high-volume ACS Level 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Burn Center, and STEMI/PCI center. NCB ED boasts high patient satisfaction scores in NYC Health + Hospitals. Faculty appointments and teaching responsibilities at AECOM. Jacobi EM is a main teaching site for a premiere Emergency Medicine residency program. Jacobi EM runs Jacobi’s regional snake-bite center and a hyperbaric treatment facility for elective and emergency cases. The Department has active programs in ultrasound, simulation, hyperbarics, toxicology/addiction care, public health and advocacy, global health, education, and research.
