Facility in Portland, Oregon Responsibilities

Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing Required Qualifications

One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification Preferred Qualifications

AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Skills and Requirements

Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication English language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills Physical ability to move and assist with equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend as needed Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment Ability to cope with frequent contact with the public, manage deadlines, and work under supervision or independently as required Sensory requirements: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits
