Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms. LPN:
Will participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician. The RN guides the patient to the appropriate level of care; schedules patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians. Documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems; records patients health conditions for follow-up patient care. Maintains and develops triage protocols; ensures patients' healthcare information is updated on time. Sets patient education based on calls that come in. LPN:

RN:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. One year of healthcare experience preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license in the state of practice and/or multistate licensure if in an NLC state. Nurses practicing over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients reside. Within 30 days of employment, obtain license requirements for the role. Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications. LPN:
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program. Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with the state nursing board and/or multi-state licensure. Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications. If the position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota, completion of an AASPN IV therapy program or an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.
