ABSMC-Summit Campus Position Overview: Applying the principles of the nursing process and working within the policies and procedures of the Patient Care Services Department and the Medical Center, the staff nurse is a registered nurse (RN) responsible for: The overall management of nursing care, ensuring competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge. Ensuring the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients, along with disease prevention and restorative measures. Responding to medical and environmental emergencies. Job Description : Skills and Knowledge Demonstrates working knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments, and general healthcare procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Ability to: Provide basic patient care to a diverse patient population. Read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Write legibly and effectively present ideas and document activities. Demonstrate leadership abilities. Deal with problems involving several variables with limited standardization. Experience : Minimum one year of current experience in the area of specialty is required. Minimum two years of adult intensive care experience, including advanced hemodynamic monitoring, is highly preferred. Experience with IABP, CRRT, or cardiovascular open-heart recovery is preferred. Education : Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. BSN preferred. Licensures and Certifications : Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications are preferred. Additional Details : Job shift: Days Schedule: Part-time, 8 hours shifts, variable days, every other weekend.
