Associate role at JPMorganChase based in New York. The team focuses on credit analysis and portfolio management for the CPG loan book and synthetic risk transfers, supporting senior portfolio managers and traders.
Responsibilities
Support the management of the loan portfolio through credit analysis alongside senior portfolio managers and traders.
Assist in the creation, management, and ongoing analysis of CPG originated synthetic risk transfers.
Conduct fundamental credit analysis and help generate trade ideas and strategies for the lending book; act as a support function for portfolio managers and traders.
Formulate credit and relative value views on positions; build and maintain models projecting cash flows; perform valuation work.
Develop and communicate portfolio management strategies to portfolio managers and senior management.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in banking, research, or an accounting-focused role, including desk analyst or investment banking analyst, or other analytical roles.
Proficiency in analyzing financial statements, financial modeling, and valuation; knowledge of relative value is highly desired.
Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to cover multiple credits in a dynamic environment with efficient evaluation of opportunities in response to news and market changes.
Intellectual curiosity with a passion for the markets and investing.
Strong Excel skills focused on data analysis, manipulation, and organization; knowledge of Python and Tableau is a plus.
Knowledge of loan and CDS markets is a plus, not required.
CFA or progress toward CFA is a plus, not required.

Lending The Credit Portfolio Group is a public-side global function with approximately 20 Portfolio Management and Trading professionals across New York, London and Singapore. It is part of the Markets function within the Corporate & Investment Bank. PM&R focuses on industry- and geography-based portfolio management; Trading & Distribution facilitates transactions through secondary loan and CDS markets and structured solutions.
