This opportunity is for an Early Career Geologist to work out of our Morristown, NJ office. The successful candidate will provide local technical assistance for the collection, identification, and compilation of environmental and geological data from soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air/vapor media, generating accurate and concise documentation that meets industry standards. Your Impact

Under general supervision, perform routine field work related to soil sampling, soil gas sampling, groundwater sampling, stormwater sampling, boring logs, and other assignments as designated. Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements. Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field/work site notebooks/logs. Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures, including maintenance of sample collection data, laboratory documentation, and logbooks. Utilize current technologies and techniques in studying organic and inorganic compounds to determine composition. Complete training on assigned tasks. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct; adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline. 0 to 1 year of relevant post-education experience. Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset. Familiarity with reducing or eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products. Familiarity with applicable environmental laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. Competent interpersonal and communication skills for scientific and non-scientific audiences. Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment. Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team. Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and related tools. Proven commitment to workplace safety and ability to abide by health, safety, and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel as required. Must have a valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (e.g., Rockworks, gINT, LogPlot, RSLog, OpenGround Cloud, ArcGIS). Prior internship related to the degree and discipline. Active participation in local professional practice organizations. About WSP
