Indianapolis Position Summary:

Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) established its first endowed professorship in 1996 in honor of the first dean, Emily Holmquist. This professorship focuses on pediatric oncology nursing—an area that builds on the existing strengths of the school and its long history of close association with the Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. IUSON is seeking exceptional candidates for the Emily Holmquist Professor or Scholar in Pediatric Oncology Nursing. The responsibilities include contributing to research, teaching, and service missions: The candidate should have a record of nationally and/or internationally disseminated, peer-reviewed scholarship in pediatric oncology nursing. For appointment as Associate Professor, evidence of an emerging national reputation is required. For Full Professor, a sustained national reputation demonstrated by a well-established body of work is necessary. The ability to work with interdisciplinary teams across clinical and academic settings is essential. The candidate should engage in high-quality teaching and mentoring, leveraging diverse strategies to create inclusive learning environments and prepare graduates for leadership roles. Serving as a role model for students and colleagues is expected. Active participation in service at the school, campus, community, and professional levels is required. Basic Qualifications: PhD is required; a PhD in Nursing Science is preferred. Candidates with a PhD in related fields (e.g., public health, health sciences, psychology, sociology, education) will be considered if they hold a master's degree or equivalent in nursing. Expertise in pediatric oncology nursing is mandatory. A record of scholarly achievement, suitable for appointment as an Associate or Full Professor, is expected. Interpersonal skills necessary for mentoring and collaboration are essential. Licensed or eligible for Indiana RN licensure is required. Department Contact for Questions: Dr. Janet S.
